Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard was established in 1925. We take pride in being a destination for fresh, locally-grown produce and other homegrown Nebraska products. A trip to Kimmel Orchards is a fun, educational experience for the whole family, just as the Kimmels envisioned. Tree Adventure at Arbor Day Farm At Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure, there’s something new to discover in every season. Pick apples in the orchard; climb a tree house 50 feet high; play in the Nature Explore Classroom. Take a ride on the Discovery Ride through the forest, and jump on the gigantic WonderNet! Steinhart Aquatic Center The Steinhart Aquatic Center in Nebraska City provides summer fun with a zero-depth entry pool, lazy river, water slides and diving boards. The center is located in Steinhart Park, which also has baseball diamonds and basketball and tennis courts. Apple House Market at Arbor Day Farm From pre-picked apples, apple pies, fresh-pressed apple cider, apple jam, apple wine, and countless other flavors — this is your one-stop-shop for everything delicious from the orchard. Apples available by the bag or box. Arbor Lodge This estate was the original home of J. Sterling Morton, who thought of Arbor Day in 1872. From its beginning in 1855 as a four-room frame house, the mansion grew to 52 rooms through several renovations. Authentic furnishings and historical artifacts grace the rooms and capture the life and times of this man.
