In addition to all of the attractions, Nebraska City and Otoe County have an impressive list of annual festivals and events. Plan your next trip to celebrate with our communities.

Arbor Day Celebration
As the home of Arbor Day, Nebraska City takes the celebration of this annual “tree-mendous” holiday very seriously. Not just one day, but an entire three-day weekend is devoted to the tree-planting event. The many activities include 5K trail runs, hayrack rides, a fine art show and sale, and plant sales. Arbor Day Farm is also a big hit this weekend. And tour Arbor Lodge State Historical Park, home of J. Sterling Morton, founder of Arbor Day.

AppleJack Festival
Ranked one of the 2006 Top 10 Fall Festivals in North America by the Society of American Travel Writers, Nebraska City’s apple harvest celebration is fun for the whole family. Take part in the festivities all weekend long with a parade, a car show, the AppleJack Fun Run/Walk, AppleJam Fest, and an array of craft shows. Then head out to Arbor Day Farm, Kimmel Orchard, and Union Orchard to pick your own apples and stock up on all of the tasty apple treats!
