136th Annual Arbor Day Celebration
2008 Top 100 Event in North America, American Bus Association (ABA)
April 25 – 27, 2008
We’re the home of Arbor Day; that explains why Nebraska City takes the celebration of this annual “tree-mendous” holiday very seriously. Not just one day, but an entire three-day weekend is devoted to the tree-planting event. The many activities include the 5K Run & Walk, Arbor Day Community Barbecue, the NEW Arbor Day Dance, the Jaycee’s Craft Show, the introduction of the NEW Discovery Ride at the Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure, and so much more. Also a big hit is the Arbor Lodge State Historical Park, home of J. Sterling Morton, the founder of Arbor Day, and his 52-room neo-colonial mansion.
