City of Nebraska City Boards and Commissions

CITY COUNCIL
Meets 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at 6:00 p.m. in City Hall, 1409 Central Avenue. Elected Positions.
AIRPORT AUTHORITY
Meets second Thursday each month. Six-year terms. Elected positions.
AIRPORT ZONING BOARD (Joint City-County)
Meets as needed. Four-year terms.
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
Meets first Tuesday of each month as needed. Three-year terms. (Planning Commission selects one from their Board to serve on the Board of Adjustment.)
BOARD OF APPEALS
Meets as needed. Four-year terms.
BOARD OF HEALTH
Meets third Monday of each month or as needed. Terms run concurrent with the term of the Mayor.
BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
Meets last Thursday of each month. (Five Members) Five-year terms.
CEMETERY BOARD
Meets quarterly on the second Wednesday of each month. Three-year terms.
CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
Meets as needed. Six-year terms. (Only two members can be registered electors of the same political party.)
DOCK BOARD
Meets last Wednesday of each month. Three-year terms. Must be a resident for a period of not less than five (5) years and shall be prominently identified with the commercial and business interest of the City.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT LOAN FUND REVIEW COMMITTEE
Meets as needed.
HOUSING AUTHORITY
Meets first Wednesday of each quarter. Five-year terms.
LAND REUTILIZATION COMMISSION
Meets Quarterly. Mayor appoints one member to the Commission for a three- year term.
LB840 REVIEW COMMITTEE
Meets as needed.
LIBRARY BOARD
Meets second Wednesday of each month (arranged by the Board members) Four-year terms.
PLANNING COMMISSION
Meets first Wednesday of each month. (Nine Members) Three-year terms.
PARKS ADVISORY COMMITTEE
(This is a volunteer committee with current members usually presenting names.)
TREE BOARD
Meets on an as-needed basis (i.e. when there are several tree problems to review/address.) They meet at 4:00 p.m. at City Hall. Three-year terms. The agenda is kept at the Street Dept. and City Hall.
COMMERCIAL BUILDING MAINTENANCE, OCCUPATIONAL & STYLE COMMITTEE
Commercial Building Maintenance, Occupancy & Style Advisory Committee Meets every second Tuesday at 6:30 at City Hall.
